We actually split Father's Day activities into two days: cookout on Saturday at Kelly's parent's house, and movie on Sunday.

The weather on Saturday was gorgeous. We were outside nearly all day. The girls played in the pool, and the in-laws cooked. After much prodding, I finally got my wife to put down the Us magazine and play croquet. Unfortunately, she ended up thoroughly handing me my own ass. Next time we play, no more Mr. Nice Guy: I'm sending her ball into the woods.

On Sunday, Arianna, Kelly, and I went to see Kung Fu Panda. Great movie! Great balance of action and comedy. Jack Black is hilarious. He could make a movie just sitting on the couch and it would probably be funny. After the movie, Arianna put her fist in her palm and showed me her Kung Fu bow. Classic!

Arianna got me a Father's Day card... with Barbie on it (I didn't even know they made those. And WHY?) No, it was very sweet. She can spell and write her own name! And she's only FOUR! She's gifted. (Gets that from me).

But not all was happy. My brother, 500 miles away in Kentucky, is going through some very tough times and dealing with difficult, life-altering decisions. My heart and thoughts were very much with him this weekend.
